Microsoft ikut meramaikan software keamanan computer gratis. Perusahaan itu merilis Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) untuk menggantikan Windows Live One Care. Microsoft Security Essential merupakan AntiVirus dan Anti Malware yang sebelumnya bernama Morro. MSE bisa didapatkan gratis, dan tersedia dalam versi 32 bit dan 64 bit. MSE ditunjukkan untuk perlindungan terhadap Windows XP (minimal SP2), Windows Vista, dan Windows 7 (termasuk Windows 7 RC). Saat ini, Microsoft menyediakan Windows Defender untuk perlindungan terhadap malware yang juga tersedia gratis.

Jika Windows Defender sudah terinstal pada system, MSE akan menguninstall nya terlebih dahulu, dan kemudian MSE mengambil alih tugas Windows Defender karena perlindungan anti malware sudah terintegrasi dalam MSE. MSE memiliki core engine yang sama dengan yang di tawarkan oleh produk Forenfront Client atau seperti yang ditawarkan kepada pengguna Windows Live OneCare sebelumnya.

Although Office 2010 will run in 64-bit versions of Windows, the program itself is a 32-bit application, so dont expect Office 2010 to run faster in 64-bit Windows than it does in 32-bit Windows.

The first true 64-bit version of Microsoft Office could be the next Mac version, which will come out near the end of 2010. Theres no way to know for sure until the product actually becomes available, and the Mac version isnt even beta yet.
